I really appreciate when authors of longer fics occasionally put a note in the author's notes at the end of a chapter saying it's a good break point if you're binge-reading. Because yes, sometimes I do find it hard to stop, and it helps to have the author say that the next few chapters are intense and flow closely and you might prefer to pause before them rather than in the middle of them.

Yes.

Also - I super appreciate it when people give a recap, especially after they took a long writing break. Not enough people recap, but I thank them every time.

What would a recap look like? A summary of what's already happened? Like on TV with, "last time, on show name..." I don't think I've ever seen a recap before, but now I'm curious.

Yeah, something like that. I've very rarely seen it routinely. I have read a few fics where they did recaps after a long hiatus, or between different stories in the same series, and a few more where people apologetically asked if we'd like recaps or if that'd be "too much". (I always have said PLEASE RECAPS. I wouldn't ask if they didn't suggest it, but if they do, omg.)

Ooh, yes, agreement. "If it's 3am and you're going to put it down any minute now, now would be the time to do that."
